I acknowledge that the MYSTICAL SOUL ACADEMY is located
on the traditional lands for the Kaurna people and as such,
I acknowledge them as being custodians of this land,
paying my respects to the spiritual relationship that
they hold with their country.
I also acknowledge the the cultural and heritage beliefs are
still as important to the living Kaurna people today.
As the MYSTICAL SOUL ACADEMY is based on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains, you may be interested in this wonderful, although brief, introduction to the local environment of the Adelaide Plains from a contemporary Indigenous Kaurna perspective.
The following presentation, “Environment: Plants, Animals, Seasons, Culture and History”, was put together the History Trust of South Australia and features Kaurna artist and researcher, James Taylor, along with Kaurna, Narangga and Wirangu man, Jack Kanya Buckskin, who has dedicated himself to learning and sharing Kaurna language and culture.
This presentation is an introduction to the local environment of the Adelaide Plains from a contemporary Indigenous Kaurna perspective. The presentation will cover indigenous plants, animals and climate and how it is informed by the history of Kaurna language, and culture in the region.
